Monster Hunter Wilds Surpassed 8 Million Sales on Launch Weekend

Capcom announced that it has sold over 8 million units of Monster Hunter Wilds with official sales results for the new entry. The company achieved the milestone with a staggering speed record, as the game reached it in just three days through the launch weekend—from the release date on Friday, February 28, 2025, until Sunday, March 2, 2025.

As a side note, Capcom also included all counts of the game’s pre-orders on the release date. Players who have pre-ordered Monster Hunter Wilds could get exclusive bonuses like the Guild Knight layered armor set and the Hope Charm talisman. As of early March 2025, Capcom has yet to put these items as purchasable DLC for players who did not pre-order the game.

It may not take too long for Monster Hunter Wilds to enter the top ten list of Capcom’s Platinum Titles page if sales continue, where it summarizes its games that have sold over a million units. As of the end of 2024, the Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak expansion occupies tenth place at 9.40 million units. Its base game, Monster Hunter Rise, is in second place with 16.70 million units sold.

Capcom’s top-selling game as of 2024 is the 2018 release Monster Hunter World, which stands at 21.30 million units. That figure can go up to 28.10 million units when one includes Monster Hunter World: Iceborne Master Edition, which bundled the base game with its expansion and contributed 6.80 million units on its own.

Monster Hunter Wilds is readily available worldwide on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and PC.
