New Tomodachi Life Game Will Come to Switch in 2026

This new game will appear as the third entry in the Tomodachi Life series that first appeared on the DS exclusively in Japan in 2009. The second title appeared for the Nintendo 3DS in Japan in 2013, but it was also localized worldwide in 2014. Nintendo had also been spotted renewing the Tomodachi Life trademark in October 2023, but no further development for the series appeared until today’s reveal of Living the Dream.

Nintendo has also uploaded a standalone trailer for Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream on YouTube, and it is available to watch right below. We get to see a large plot of land on what appears to be an island, with Miis able to visit homes, enter shops and facilities, or hang out outside. It also teases that the notable humor from the original games will be preserved, with one segment involving a dream sequence with an oversized Mii confronting a normal-sized one.

Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream will be available for Nintendo Switch in 2026.
