Rocket League developer Psyonix has strived for a unified community across all platforms for quite some time, and they’re just an air-dribble away as the PS4 version has entered the PlayStation Cross-Beta program.
With the PS4 version of Rocket League having entered the Cross-Play Beta program, players on PS4, Switch, Xbox One, and Steam can now randomly matchmake with or against each other in all Online match types, including Casual, Competitive, and Extra Modes.
As for cross-platform parties, it will be available as part of the cross-platform party system that will allow players to simply partner up with friends on any platform. It’ll be available as part of the game’s first update this year. More information on that will be shared soon.
In order to enable Cross-Platform play (it is by default), head to the “Main Menu,” select “Options” and then make sure the “Cross-Platform Play” box is checked under the “Gameplay” tab.
While the cross-platform party system will arrive later, those of you who want to play with friends on other platforms can do so by going to the Main Menu and selecting: Play>Private Match>Create>Join Private Match.
Rocket League is available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
