Should You Resort to Violence in Avowed Conversations?

Avowed features many different choices you can make, especially in the middle of conversations. Some of these might be on the more peaceful side, while others can be violent and threatening. If you are wondering whether or not you should resort to violence in Avowed, you are in the right place.

How to Resort to Violence in Avowed Conversations

How you resort to violence is anytime you are in a conversation and you have the option to start a fight, hit someone, or try to kill the NPC. Any of these direct actions of violence will count as resorting to violence and the game will usually note what type of action will happen if you pick that particular dialogue option.

A great example of this is whenever you are doing the main story quest to take out Ygwulf. You will have several options to deal with him, one of which is to attack him and his gang of rebels. This will count as resorting to violence for the purposes of the game.

Should You Resort to Violence?

The question remains: whenever you have the option, should you choose to resort to violence in Avowed? Well, the answer is a bit more complicated than you might expect. For some players, resorting to violence never fits their particular character or playstyle. That is understandable, but it might also change depending on the context of the NPC in question or quest.

However, the main motivating factor for why I do recommend resorting to violence sometimes is the Tired of Being Nice achievement. This achievement requires you to resort to violence 10 different times in the course of your adventure. If you happen to be an achievement hunter, you’ll need to resort to violence whenever possible to 100% max out the game.

Avowed is available right now for Xbox Series X/S and PC.
