Should You Return With the Illicit Goods or Give Them to the Tira Nui in Avowed?

At the end of “The Wasteland Courier” sidequest in Avowed, you must choose between returning the Illicit Goods to Daiko or handing them over to the Tira Nui. This guide is here to help you make the best decision based on the possible outcomes. It’s okay to snitch sometimes, right?

What happens if you give the Illicit Goods to the Tira Nui in Avowed?

Giving the Illicit Goods to the Tira Nui rewards you with the Thirdborn Tira Nui Badge, a Unique Trinket that grants the wearer +2 Might. Talking to Daiko afterward will also grant you the Poisoner’s Kit, another Unique Trinket that grants weapons +5% poison damage.

The nonchalant Tira Nui Hajime will reveal that he’s the brother of Aiko and Daiko but isn’t related by blood. You also reveal that Aiko didn’t make it, which he doesn’t seem too bothered about.

After handing in the Illicit Goods, you can talk to Daiko to break the news that you reported his illegal activities and inform him of his brother’s death. How lovely!

The next time you return to Thirdborn, Daiko will have left, and you will never be able to purchase from him again. He also leaves the town a lovely letter flaming you.

What happens if you return the Illicit Goods to Daiko?

If you give the Illicit Goods to Daiko, he will explain more about his relationship with his brother and reward you with the Poisioner’s Kit. While you don’t receive the Thirdborn Tira Nui Badge, Daiko will remain a permanent vendor in Thirdborn and offer you a “bereavement discount” on his goods.

The Wasteland Courier: Should you give the Illicit Goods to the Tira Nui or Daiko in Avowed?

Like most choices in Avowed, there’s rarely a 100% correct choice. Giving the Illicit Goods to the Tira Nui provides the most rewards but at the cost of permanently losing Daiko as a vendor.

If you don’t care for Daiko’s stock of mostly Monster Parts (used for enchanting), feel free to hand over the Illicit Goods to the Tira Nui to earn the most profit.

Avowed is available on PC and Xbox Series X/S to purchase or play through Game Pass.
