Should You Use the Fantastic Four in Marvel Rivals

Marvel Rivals is the latest free-to-play shooter to hit the gaming scene. There is an extensive cast of characters to play based on the legendary comic book series, and the latest additions to the roster include Mister Fantastic and Invisible Woman from the Fantastic Four. But the big question when any new character joins is, are they any good? So, we’ll delve into this question and answer how viable Mister Fantastic and Invisible Woman are to play in a match.

With any article of this nature, it’s worth noting that this is a subjective opinion, where your playstyle may determine how feasible a character will be for you. Some of the presented facts may differ with future updates, as characters’ stats may change. The other members of the Fantastic Four will arrive at Marvel Rivals at a later date.

Should You Use Mister Fantastic In Marvel Rivals?

According to rivalsmeta, Mister Fantastic is statistically the best Fantastic Four character in Marvel Rivals, as he has a 51.11% win rate and the seventh-best win ratio across the whole roster. In our opinion, Mister Fantastic is definitely a worthwhile character to use if you gravitate towards an offensive playstyle.

Technically, Mister Fantastic is categorised as a duelist, but you’re going to want to utilise him as a makeshift tank character. Confused? Well, let us explain the intricacies of the character. Mister Fantastic has a passive ability called Elastic Strength, where every time you use an ability, it will make your attacks stronger. When the elasticity meter is full, Mister Fantastic will inflate like a balloon, granting a shield and boosting even more damage when attacking. Your goal is to either work towards or maintain this inflated state, as he will be able to protect team members with lower health stats and inflict a ton of damage to the opposing side. The best way to transform into this state is by using one standard attack, followed by an ability, and alternating between the two.

Another tip that might be helpful when using Mister Fantastic is to make sure a few enemies are around when you use the ultimate ability, Brainiac Bounce. When you use this move, Mister Fantastic will stretch out, leap into the air, and pound the ground. He will do this action three times, but if you hit an opponent the third time, he will then perform another. Mister Fantastic can continue to do this for another three times (six in total) as long as you hit an opponent when you hit the ground. This can be an excellent move to use in tight situations when you are trying to disperse or kill opponents at a capture point.

Flexible Elongation is also a solid ability, as it flings Mr Fantastic towards an enemy, inflicts damage and bestows a small shield onto a fellow team member. This can be a great way to allow vanguard allies to gobble up more incoming aggression from the opposing side, which will be advantageous against characters like Iron Man and Storm.

Should You Use Invisible Woman In Marvel Rivals?

In comparison, Invisible Woman is arguably not such a strong character compared to her other Fantastic Four counter-part, as rivalsmeta has her win rate at 48.57%. That might not sound too great but don’t write her off just yet, as she can be a strong strategist when utilised correctly.

When you’re playing as Invisible Woman, you will want to play a more supportive role where you focus on healing your allies and inflicting damage. The best way to do this is to always be near your team, preferably a vanguard character like Doctor Strange or Venom. But you will not necessarily want to be right behind them (although this can be beneficial in specific scenarios, as her standard attack will launch an orb that can pierce through teammates and enemies). Instead, you will want to be positioned at a slight angle or be right next to them, where you can easily heal teammates and impose damage onto the opponent.

Your aim should be to encourage the competing team to attack you and then make a steady getaway where your allies can hopefully kill the enemy. A good way to incite the team into attacking you is to use the Force Physics ability to pull an enemy near you, followed by the Psionic Vortex, which will draw in nearby enemies and inflict damage. When they start pursuing you, quickly use the Veild Step ability to make her invisible and make your escape.

When both teams are in close-quarter combat, a great way to support your allies is to use the ultimate ability, Invisible Boundary, as the force field will slow down the opposing side and make allies invisible. This can make a big difference, especially when there are only a few seconds left in the match. Another huge tip is always to put a Guardian Shield in front of an ally when you can, as this can block a lot of damage and hopefully prevent unnecessary deaths.

Overall, both members of the Fantastic Four have been great additions to Marvel Rivals, and you can easily climb up the ranks with these characters. Sure, they may not be the best characters in the game, but they are definitely some of the better ones on the roster. We recommend trying out Mister Fantastic and Invisible Woman for yourself and see if you can gel with their playstyle.

Marvel Rivals is available for the PlayStation 5, PC, and Xbox Series X.
