Konami has released an extensive concept art portfolio for the Silent Hill 2 remake, showing off the work of Bloober Team’s artists. It is publicly available through the game’s official website. This is available worldwide, and there’s no language barrier when it comes to looking through the designs that shaped the game.
The new art portfolio shows off a wide variety of work for the Silent Hill 2 remake from people like members of Bloober Team’s roster. It’s separated by individual artists, organized alphabetically by their names. This also helps separate the types of art available. The work created by the concept artists shows off the early vision of the remake. Meanwhile, character and asset artists’ pieces show off detailed images of in-game models.
For instance, the art portfolio of lead character artist Pablo Poliakov shows off detailed images of James Sunderland, Pyramid Head, and a nurse. Elsewhere, the work of asset artists such as Jan Kasperczyk and Aleksandra Zajac show off models of various in-game items such as the Great Knife or the hospital puzzle box. The work of concept artists like Aneta Bielas and Michal Salata show detailed sketches of how the team wanted the Silent Hill 2 remake looked early on.
It’s not the first time Konami has shown off artwork for the Silent Hill 2 remake. The Collector’s Edition of the game came with a digital artbook. That also contained concept artwork that helped shape the design of the title. However, this art portfolio has made much of this artwork available for a wider audience. It also helps with preservation efforts, since by sharing it online we have greater access to it even if something were to happen to the digital artbook due to storefront issues.
The Silent Hill 2 remake is out now for the PS5 and PC worldwide.
