Square Enix has shared that it is aware of specific bugs that have appeared for consumers playing FFVII Rebirth on PC while using AMD Radeon products. This announcement came through a post on X, with Square Enix stating that they are currently investigating this issue. For now, Square Enix suggests that consumers playing FFVII Rebirth on PC make sure their drives for any AMD Radeon products are up to date.
AMD shared further information as to how consumers could be affected, which includes “intermittent system and application crashes” if Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is played for extended periods of time. Final Fantasy VII Rebirth isn’t the only game to face issues on AMD hardware. Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2 is another game that could experience these same issues.
Leading up to the PC release of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, Square Enix shared the best graphics settings for those looking to take the game on the go via Steam Deck. Perhaps as a surprise to no one, the recommended setting for FFVII Rebirth on the Steam Deck is “low.” However, Square Enix stated that those looking to move between playing via the Steam Deck and a PC should make sure to change their graphics settings when booting up the game on each respective platform.
Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is available right now for PC and PlayStation 5.
