The Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Direct aired on October 5, 2021 with news of the latest Super Smash Bros amiibo lineup. The upcoming amiibo include Steve (Minecraft), Alex (Minecraft), Sephiroth (Final Fantasy VII), Pyra (Xenoblade Chronicles 2), Mythra (Xenoblade Chronicles 2), and Kazuya (Tekken). Though the Steve and Alex amiibo will release sometime in Spring 2022, the other four don’t yet have release windows.
According to series producer Masahiro Sakurai, only the Steve and Alex SSBU amiibo have received mockups that he’s personally seen. The other four figures are still in 3D concept form only. The last amiibo announced was Min Min in June 2021, which is set to release sometime in 2022.
Sora will be part of Fighters Pass Vol. 2, which also included Final Fantasy VII‘s Sephiroth, Min Min from ARMS, and Minecraft‘s Steve and Alex. The Sora DLC will release on October 18, 2021. He’ll be available to purchase separately from the Fighters Pass Vol. 2 for $5.99 as well. Meanwhile, check out Sora’s full Super Smash Bros moveset and the soundtrack list included in the pack. Several new Mii Fighters will also release on the same date. That includes Doom Slayer and Splatoon‘s Octoling.
Both the Steve and Alex SSBU amiibo will release sometime in Spring 2022. Pyra, Mythra, Kazuya and Sephiroth amiibo haven’t received release windows. Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is currently out now for Nintendo Switch.
