“The Repair Job” is not actually a terribly difficult quest – it just requires collecting materials to (you guessed it) repair some equipment that needs patching up. The materials are pretty rare, but there’s nothing absurd here.
It’s easy to get the impression that Xenoblade Chronicles X is the best RPG world ever waiting for someone to build an RPG in it. But as I progressed I discovered that the story I was looking for was there after all, just not where I thought it would be.
I think the most useful way to explain combat in Xenoblade Chronicles X is by comparing it to Xenoblade. In Xenoblade each character was locked into a role. Those limitations are gone in Xenoblade Chronicles X.
Xenoblade Chronicles X doesn’t start strong. This is hardly a condemnation of the entire game; many great RPGs start slow and don’t hit their groove until hours into the experience.
The extended version of the “Survival” trailer gives us some brief glimpses into the various areas players will be able to explore, as well as the enemies they will encounter.
