The Herta Teams in Honkai: Star Rail Require Another Erudition

While The Herta, the 5-star Ice Erudition version of free character Herta, in Honkai: Star Rail is an amazing attacker, her kit can make it difficult to create teams for her. No matter the composition of your team, though, you’ll need a second Erudition character to make the most of her powerful Skill and Ultimate.

The Herta has two Traces that require a second Erudition on her team: Message From Beyond the Veil and Hand Them Over. With another Erudition unit, Hand Them Over offers an additional DMG boost when she uses her Enhanced Skill. Meanwhile, Message From Beyond the Veil increases all allies’ Crit DMG by a whopping 80%. It also enhances her Aloofly Honest Trace and Interpretation stacks, but that’s not nearly as important as that Crit DMG bonus.

Fortunately, most Erudition characters in the game work well with The Herta. Since The Herta is the main attacker on the team, you don’t want anyone stealing too much SP from her. This rules out characters like Argenti and Jing Yuan.

There’s a lot more freedom when it comes to choosing which support character you want. The Herta teams can get away with single-target or AoE supports; a single-target support can boost The Herta’s powerful Skill and Ultimate, while an AoE support helps make the most out of Message From Beyond the Veil.

It’s the same with sustains, too. Unlike characters like Blade or Acheron, there’s nothing preventing you from using characters like Aventurine or Huohuo. However, I do recommend someone like Lingsha or Gallagher since they can hit multiple enemies at once. This pairs well with her Aloofly Honest Trace, which regenerates Energy for The Herta for every 1 target an ally hits with an attack.

Here are the best teams for The Herta in Honkai: Star Rail

  • The Herta | Jade | Robin | Lingsha
This is, as of the time of writing, the optimal premium team for The Herta. Jade is a great sub-DPS and support for her, and her AoE attacks can help build energy for The Herta. You can technically replace Robin with Ruan Mei if you want to, since they both have party-wide buffs, but Robin is a better support for Jade’s follow-up attacks. Lingsha is due to her AoE attacks helping The Herta to regain energy for her Ultimate.
  • The Herta | Erudition | Trailblazer (Remembrance) | Sustain
This is a more general party that F2P players can put together, since you only need an Erudition, a sustain, and Remembrance Trailblazer. Remembrance Trailblazer can support The Herta by having her immediately take a turn, as well as by dealing True DMG. Their Ultimate being AoE also helps to restore energy for The Herta. When choosing your Erudition, you should choose someone like Serval, Himeko, or Herta. This is because they can do their jobs without stealing SP or buffs from The Herta.
  • The Herta | Erudition | Sunday | Huohuo
This team can work as a double-attacker or a hyper-carry team depending on who you put as your second Erudition. But the main focus is on providing The Herta with lots of energy so she can use her Ultimate and Enhanced Skill as much as possible. Sunday can provide necessary buffs for her, while restoring her energy with his Ultimate. Huohuo can do the same thing. That Sunday and Huohuo can’t help much with attacking the enemy is hardly an issue when their kits focus on giving The Herta energy.
