Electronic Arts announced and released a legacy collection consisting of both The Sims and The Sims 2, both of which include a collection of DLC. The two games are available separately or together as part of The Sims 25th Birthday Bundle.
The announcement came alongside a predominantly live-action trailer featuring various references to the series throughout the years, including a nod to the infamous method of drowning sims by removing the steps to their swimming pool. While the biggest value point is that the games should now run better on modern machines, they also come packaged with almost all of the DLC released for each game. One of the apparent exceptions is the add-on The Sims 2: IKEA Home Stuff. Buying the first game’s collection on its own will cost you $19.99, while the second one will set you back $29.99. Alternatively, you could purchase The Sims 25th Birthday Bundle for $39.99 to receive both games and save about $10.

Back in September, 2024, EA also released both MySims and MySims Kingdom on Nintendo Switch as part of the MySims: Cozy Bundle. Just prior to that, the company also stated that it had no current plans to develop The Sims 5, though there is a film adaptation in the works.
Both The Sims: Legacy Collection and The Sims 2: Legacy Collection are available now for PCs via the EA Store, Epic Games Store, and Steam. EA Play Pro members will also be able to access the games via their subscription.
