Long after Siliconera first revealed early that a Final Fantasy VII remake would be announced at E3 2015, the game (or at least the first episode of it) will finally be releasing this week onto PlayStation 4.
This remake takes the portion of the original Final Fantasy VII set in Midgard and heavily expands on it, as the entire game will be set in Midgar due to its iconicity. We’ll see Cloud and the Avalanche members make their way inside the mako reactor once more to blow it up, and the adventure that continues on from there. Confirmed returning party members include Cloud, Barret, Tifa, and Aerith, with Red XIII being a guest character for the game.
As a reminder, Siliconera gets a small portion pocket change from your purchases from our Play-Asia links below. You can also save $3 by using the code “SILICON” by using the coupon button at the payment method selection screen.
Here are this week’s Japanese releases below:

- Final Fantasy VII Remake Digital Deluxe (digital-only)
- Final Fantasy VII Remake Package + Figure
