Last week in Japan, it was a bit of a quiet week for sales with Arc of Alchemist as the lone new release in the top-20. Japanese sales tracker Media Create released the latest video game software and hardware sales data from the week of February 4 to February 10, 2019.

The #1 game of the week is New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe with 38,482 units sold for Switch to end Kingdom Hearts III’s streak on top at two weeks. However, Kingdom Hearts III wasn’t far behind with 35,450 units sold on the PS4 to chart at #2. Super Smash Bros. Ultimate followed at #3 with 31,174 units sold on Switch.

Resident Evil 2 was #4 with 22,670 units sold on PS4, and Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! & Let’s Go, Eevee! kept the #5 spot with 17,596 units sold on Switch. Arc of Alchemist was the only new title in the top-20, and it charted at #14 with 3,328 units sold on PS4. It’s also worth noting that Super Mario Party sold 11,863 units to chart at #7 and to also hit the million-seller milestone in Japanese retail with a total of 1,007,947 copies sold thus far.

In hardware sales, we saw an overall decline with it being the first full week of February. The PlayStation 4 sold 11,583 units plus an additional 8,111 from PS4 Pro models to combine for 19,694 units between the two. The Nintendo Switch sold 61,280 units to make up 70.4% of all hardware sales. Going by Media Create’s figures, the Nintendo Switch is currently at 7,379,142 units sold in Japan since its launch in March 3, 2017.
