Animal Crossing: New Leaf is still leading the pack in weekly software sales in Japan, but Dragon Quest VII is arriving later this week to give it a little competition. We’ll get to see how much the game sold at launch in next week’s sales chart.

 

Meanwhile, Level 5’s Fantasy Life role-playing game is doing rather well for itself and continues to sell, now that the issue of shortages appears to have been addressed to some extent. Fantasy Life is now at over 200,000 copies sold. Later this year, Level 5 will release a large content update for the game as DLC.

 

Last week also saw the release of PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale in Japan. The game sold just 11,758 copies on the PlayStation 3, which isn’t surprising in the least, given the lack of characters that would appeal to a Japanese audience.

 

Joining it was Accel World 02: Apex of Acceleration by Namco Bandai, which sold 10,551 copies on PS3 and another 8,633 copies on the PSP.
