Last week, Japan, along with the rest of the world, got Crystal Dynamics’ latest Tomb Raider game in Shadow of the Tomb Raider. Nintendo Labo Toy-Con 03 and Black Clover: Quartet Knights also had debuts.

 

Marvel’s Spider-Man retained the #1 spot with an impressive 80,832 units sold in the week to put the total at 205,986 units sold on PlayStation 4. Next up is Shadow of the Tomb Raider with 32,172 units sold on PS4. The 2013 Tomb Raider game debuted with 35,250 units on PS3 and Rise of the Tomb Raider sold 21,152 units for its debut on PS4 after releasing ln Xbox One and Xbox 360 the year prior, so things have been pretty consistent for Lara Croft in Japan.

 

At #3 we have Splatoon 2 with 14,094 units sold for Nintendo Switch, followed by Minecraft at #4 with 13,479 units sold on Switch. We can expect to continue seeing these two titles near the top of the chart for a good while. At #5 we have the next new title of the week with Nintendo Labo Toy-Con 03: Drive Kit with 11,659 units sold for Switch.

 

As far as other new titles go, Undertale’s physical version for Switch launched at #10 with 5,990 units sold in its debut. Black Clover: Quartet Knights debuted on PS4 with an underwhelming 4,630 units to chart at #15.

 

In hardware sales, the PlayStation 4 sold 12,057 units and the PS4 Pro sold 4,959 units to combine for 17,016 units between the two. The Nintendo Switch saw a bit of a dip with 38,738 units sold in the week but still made for a big 59.4% of the consoles released in the week. Going by Media Create’s figures, the Nintendo Switch is currently at 4,974,429 units sold in Japan since its launch in March 3, 2017.
