Forever Entertainment and MegaPixel Studio offered a chance to take a first look at The House of the the Dead 2: Remake during Steam Next Fest 2025 with a demo. The PC trial is now live on the storefront, though the companies didn’t note how long it will be available. The announcement included a reveal that we can also watch members of the development team play the game.
We do know what’s already in The House of the the Dead 2: Remake demo. The announcement confirmed if we download it, we can try the first level alone or with a friend. It also mentioned that we can choose to hear the original or remastered soundtrack while we play through this portion. It features the updated character designs, of course.
As for the stream, that was live as of 8:30am ET on February 24, 2025. Gameplay started at about 8am ET that morning. Part of that video involved getting to see the main menu and UI. We could see the Original and Arcade story, with options like Difficulty Level, Score Mode, and Multiplayer Mode showing up before someone heads into the shooter.
In case you missed it, here’s the announcement trailer that appeared in January 2025:
The original The House of the Dead: Remake, which also came from MegaPixel and Forever, is available on the Switch, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC.
The House of the Dead 2: Remake has a Spring 2025 release window for the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation consoles, Xbox consoles, and PC, and the demo is live via Steam Next Fest now.
