Last week, Japan saw several major releases with The King of Fighters XIV, Sengoku Basara: Legend of Sanada Yukimura, Hatsune Miku: Project Diva X on PS4, and plenty more. Here’s the latest of sales tracker Media Create’s weekly data on software and hardware that sold in the week of August 22 through August 28, 2016.

Yo-kai Watch 3 managed to climb back to the #1 spot with 32,460 copies sold this past week, after letting Tales of Berseria take it for a week. Speaking of Berseria, Bandai Namco’s latest Mothership RPG placed #2 on PS4 with 24,057 copies and #3 on PS3 with 15,262 copies sold for a total of 39,319 copies. Yeah, not so great for a follow-up week.

Looking into new releases, Sony Interactive Entertainment Japan Asia published Hello Games’ No Man’s Sky, which placed #3 with 22,200 units sold on PS4. SNK Playmore released the latest of their main fighter series with The King of Fighters XIV, which debuted at 20,655 units sold on PS4. In case you’re wondering, its predecessor in The King of Fighters XIII opened with 21,525 copies in its first week on PS3, so I would say that it did fairly well, considering the negative reception it got when it was first revealed.

Sengoku Otome: Battle Legend, the game based on the anime series (originally an otome pachinko game series) that takes place in an alternate world made up  of females, with Japanese historic gender-swapped heroes, also released on PS Vita. It sold 16,054 copies in its debut to take #5 in the list, which is more than what was expected… well, at least more than what we can about the following title of Sengoku Basara: Legend of Sanada Yukimura, which opened at #6 on PS4 with 15,592 units and at #9 on PS3 with 11,796 copies sold for a combined total of 27,388 units between the two.

According to Media Create’s weekly additional update on Friday, the 27,388 units that Sengoku Basara: Legend of Sanada Yukimura had sold was much less than Sengoku Basara 4: Sumeragi which sold about 94,000 copies between two versions back in July 2015. Sumeragi sold through about 60% of its shipment while Sanada Yukimura’s latest adventure has dropped down to about 40%. Ouch.

Moving along, Hatsune Miku: Project Diva X released on PlayStation 4 in Japan and sold through 12,915 copies. This is much less than the 69,438 that Project Diva X opened up with earlier this year in March, and it comes to show that Japan loves their Miku on handheld more than home console.

Next up, we have Azure Striker Gunvolt: Striker Pack, featuring both the first title along with its sequel, at #15 with 6,426 copies sold in its first week. And finally, Idea Factory’s latest Otomate game, Beast and Princess, debuted at #19 with 4,765 copies sold on PS Vita.

It should also be noted that Metroid Prime: Federation Force also made its debut in Japan, but it didn’t even chart. The Friday update shows the game placed #21, but since only the top-20 gets sales numbers, we don’t know exactly how it performed. To add to the fact that it isn’t a Samus-centered Metroid game, the series has never really sold that well in Japan as it has in other parts, so it was rather expected.

To wrap things up, hardware sales mostly saw a big drop across all platforms. While most went down by a few hundred to a thousand or two, the PS4 saw a significant drop going from 17,596 the week prior down to 5,812 units sold this week, although that mostly smells like a stock shortage.
