Taking down a Kaiju is no easy feat, which is why Fortnite awards players the powerful Godzilla Medallion for those brave enough to take him down. With the Medallion equipped, you can dash throughout the Island, freeing up the inventory slot of your usual mobility item.
To get a Godzilla Medallion, you must be the player who deals the most damage to Godzilla during a match. Once people have worked together to take the Kaiju down, the person who dealt the most damage will receive the Godzilla Medallion and exotic Burst Quad Launcher.
Players holding a Godzilla Medallion will drop it when eliminated. This means you can technically grab a Medallion without fighting the titan himself. That’s if you can catch the player using it in the first place.
What does the Godzilla Medallion do in Fortnite?
When picked up, the Godzilla Medallion grants players the ability to dash by double jumping. You can stack a total of three charges at once, which begin to recharge after use.
Like other Medallions and Boons, the Godzilla Medallion doesn’t take up an inventory slot. If you want to pass it to a teammate (or abandon it for whatever reason), you can drop it from your Backpack. To access your Backpack, press up on the d-pad on a controller or “I” on a keyboard.
How do I find and deal damage to Godzilla in Fortnite?
There’s a small (40%~) chance for a portal to spawn during a match of Fortnite‘s Battle Royale and Zero Build modes. The first player to enter the portal transforms into Godzilla, gaining three abilities and a health bar to match his gigantic size.
That’s right! A real person controls the Godzilla you need to fight, and they have access to a devastating stomp, a heat ray, and can see you through walls by letting out a roar.
All weapons hurt Godzilla, but you can dealextra damage by shooting his glowing scales. If you want the Godzilla Medal, firing at them with high-damage weapons like the Rail Gun or Quad Launcher is going to be necessary.
Firing at Godzilla’s scales will also cause them to drop off. You can consume these scales to restore health and gain a temporary dash ability similar to the one granted by the medal.
It’s very hard to miss Godzilla spawning in Fortnite, with the game doing its utmost best to tell you he’s arrived. Along with a banner showing he’s active, an automatic waypoint will appear along with a mark on the in-game map.
Bear in mind that many players will likely flood the area to complete their Quests, making the task of acquiring the Godzilla Medal a tricky one. Good luck out there!
