Epic Games has been teasing a Godzilla appearance for Fortnite since the announcement of Chapter Six Season One, and the King of Monsters is almost here! Here’s what you need to know about Godzilla’s Fortnite debut, including when he releases, how to get him, and whether any other of his Kaiju buddies will also make an appearance.
When is Godzilla being added to Fortnite?
Godzilla and his matching cosmetics arrive in Fortnite on January 17, 2025. That’s just three days after Hatsune Miku’s debut. What a time to be alive.
The “Godzilla Evolved” Outfit (skin) will be available through the Chapter Six Season One Premium Battle Pass by completing limited-time Quests. You have until February 21, 2025 to unlock the King of Monsters before he stomps off.
A complete list of Godzilla cosmetics awarded through the Battle Pass includes
● Godzilla Evolved
● Lil’ Godzilla Attack emote
● Godzilla Loading Screen
● Godzilla Awaits Spray
● Godzilla’s Exo-Spine Back Bling
● Evolved Heat Ray
● Mothra Glider
● Charged Titanus Gojira Animated Emoticon
● Energized Exo-Spine Back Bling Style
● Energized Godzilla Style
● Woodblock Print Godzilla Spray
● Crystal Fang Pickaxe
Is Godzilla a limited-time exclusive?
The only way to earn the Godzilla Evolved skin is through the Chapter 6 Season 1 Battle Pass. However, recent changes to Epic’s policy on Battle Passes mean that Godzilla can return through other means in the future.
It’s worth noting that this has yet to happen with any Battle Pass skin, so make sure to complete his Quests while you can! You can find these under the “Quests” tab while a Battle Royale experience is selected.
Are King Kong, Mechagodzilla, or other kaiju in Fortnite?
While not officially announced, data mining revealed that King Kong and Mechagodzilla
skins are in the files of the January 14, 2025 update. King Kong’s design is based on his appearance
in Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire, complete with his arm attachment.
Regarding other Kaiju, a data mined pickaxe suggests a future collaboration with Kaiju No. 8.
Mothra is also featured as a glider in the Battle Pass.
Will there be a Godzilla live event?
The January 14, 2025 update introduced the first Godzilla quests and broke the Shining Span bridge,
leaving giant footprints nearby. As Godzilla has clearly already visited the Island, it’s highly
unlikely that we’ll see a live Godzilla x Kong event.
Don’t worry; we will be seeing Godzilla stomp around the Island. Data mining and hints on
official social media channels suggest players will be able to transform into a colossal Godzilla
and wreak havoc on enemies and buildings below.
Fortnite is free to play on PC, Mac, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and select mobile devices.
