When Does the Day Reset in Hello Kitty Island Adventure

In-game days run on a 1-hour cycle in Hello Kitty Island Adventure. However, similar to games like Animal Crossing, it also has many events and actions tied to your system’s real-world clock. This is Island Adventure’s way of limiting certain interactions and player progress, to encourage you to take breaks, incentivize long-term play to encounter special events, and explore the islands for secrets, critters, and more. Barring a few exceptions, exhausting your daily allotment of limited actions will most likely prevent you from furthering your playthrough until the day resets. Because of this, you might want to know: When does the day reset in Hello Kitty Island Adventure? Here’s a brief rundown of when it happens, and an explanation of what it does.

When Does the Day Reset in Hello Kitty Island Adventure

Resets in Hello Kitty Island Adventure always occur every day on a global schedule. The global reset time for Hello Kitty Island Adventure is 7:00 AM GMT. This is 11pm PT/2am ET/8am CET respectively. Every day at this time, Hello Kitty Island Adventure will “reset” the day, refreshing multiple features. You can’t close out of Island Adventure to prevent the reset from happening. You can’t leave your game open to avoid the reset either. Here’s a list of what the day reset does in Hello Kitty Island Adventure:

  • Gift allowances to NPCs are refreshed, regardless of how many gifts the NPC could still be given.
  • Collectible items will respawn across the map.
  • Daily Rewards will advance, allowing you to collect the next item on the track.
  • Certain quests requiring a real-world day to activate or progress will do so.
  • Visitors already visiting the island will leave, and new visitors will arrive if conditions are met.
  • A new set of Daily Quests are given to the player.
  • If the new day is in a new Season, the pool of potential visitors will rotate to match the new season.

The daily reset can also affect NPC schedules if you’ve unlocked the corresponding location depending on what day of the week it is. For example, if you’ve helped Hyangodon open the Comedy Club for business, NPCs will visit it on real-world Saturdays. NPC schedules related to the reset won’t get in the way of any quests or block access to other features. There’s no need to rush through whatever you’re doing if reset time is approaching! If you’re tired of waiting for the reset to happen organically, you can always time travel to make it happen sooner. This is ill-advised, however. Keep reading to learn why.

How to Time Travel in Hello Kitty Island Adventure

Time travelling in Hello Kitty Island Adventure is a fancy way of saying, “force the day to reset.” Developers Sunblink warn players against time travelling to avoid save file corruption. In addition, forcing a day reset in this way will lock you out of the multiplayer function entirely. Daily reset functions, such as respawning items and advancing quests, are at the risk of breaking altogether. Sunblink has made clear it cannot restore corrupted save files where time travelling has occurred.

If you still want to time travel in Hello Kitty Island Adventure, it’s as simple as changing your system’s time and date to the next logical reset point. There’s no in-game way of doing this. For certain platforms, you might have to disconnect from the internet. On PC, for example, you’ll have to enable manual date/time settings from the “Time & Language” tab in your settings. Do your best to only move forward in time. Going backwards in time will not activate resets. It’s almost guaranteed to break your save. Do not, under any circumstances, return to your original time. This can break your save file. Your system’s clock will have to remain out of sync until you’re ready to risk breaking your save file.

It’s recommended to be patient and wait for the reset to avoid issues. Try using an Island or Friendship Bouquet to refresh your actions instead. Farming sticks is one way to pass the time in Island Adventure, and believe it or not, you can get a steady supply through fishing.
