After much anticipation and a handful of leeks, Hatsune Miku is officially coming to Fortnite in Fortnite Festival Season 7! Here’s everything you need to know about Miku’s first collaboration with Fortnite, including her release date, in-game items, and which modes she’s available in.
When is Hatsune Miku being added to Fortnite?
Hatsune Miku is the Icon of Fortnite Festival Season 7, beginning on January 14, 2025, and concluding on April 8. The collaboration includes Hatsune Miku skins, Back Blings, instruments, Jam Tracks, Emotes, Contrails, and even car decals.
The Fortnite Festival Season 7 Music Pass includes the Neko Hatsune Miku Outfit (skin) and matching Neko Miku Keytar and Guitar instruments. By progressing through the Music Pass, players can unlock matching styles for both the skin and instruments inspired by Fortnite‘s own Brite Bomber.
The Music Pass also includes the “M@GICAL☆CURE! LOVE ♥ SHOT!” Jam Track, with “Daisy 2.0,” “Miku,” and “World is Mine” available separately. Jam Tracks are playable songs in Fortnite Festival, a free Rock Band-inspired Rhythm Mode.
For traditional Vocaloid fans, Hatsune Miku’s regular design is also available purchasable in the Item Shop alongside Miku Live and Miku Miku Beam Emotes.
Which Fortnite modes can you use Hatsune Miku in?
Once purchased, both Hatsune Miku skins are usable in all Fortnite modes other than Fall Guys experiences. That’s right! You can even use Miku in LEGO Fortnite, automatically transforming her into an adorable minifigure. Unfortunately, neither skin supports Kicks, meaning you can’t deck out Miku in a fresh pair of Jordans.
Miku’s Jam Tracks are usable as playable songs in Fortnite Festival, the free Rock Band-inspired rhythm mode. Miku’s songs will occasionally appear in the daily free Jam Track selection, though owning a Jam Track allows you to play it whenever you like.
Owned Jam tracks can also be played as Emotes in most Fortnite experiences. If you want to pull out a microphone and blast “World is Mine” after an elimination in Battle Royale, you totally can, and I wouldn’t blame you.
The Miku-themed instruments are useable in Fortnite Festival and will appear when using most instrument-related emotes in other Fortnite experiences. Starting January 14, some instruments (and drum sticks) can also be used as Pickaxes and Back Blings.
Is Miku limited time?
Hatsune Miku, her related cosmetics, and Jam Tracks will be available until April 8, 2025. However, all Miku items are eligible to return at any point in the future. Judging by how previous Icon skins work, Miku will likely show her face every now and again in the Item Shop.
