Where is Imai Sokyu in Assassin’s Creed Shadows

Imai Sokyu is an important figure in Assassin’s Creed Shadows who will be able to grant you access to one of the Shinbakufu targets. However, if you don’t have any scouts, he can be difficult to find in the busy city of Sakai.

Where to Find Information on Imai Sokyu in Assassin’s Creed Shadows

Before you can search for Imai Sokyu in Assassin’s Creed Shadows, you’ll need to search around and find his name. When you first speak to Tomiko and get your first target, you’ll gain a quest to speak to the gunsmiths of Sakai.

Sakai is easy to find on the map because it’s already marked from the start of the game. It’s on the west coast of Settsu, south of Osaka. As you enter the city, you’ll likely discover the Sakai Firearms District. Stay in this area and use your observation ability to spot the blue dots in the area. There are a few of them, but most of the obvious merchants are not helpful.

Eventually, you should be able to find two men in an alleyway. Hide behind cover and eavesdrop on them, before walking up and speaking to them. You can choose to either pay them 500 mon (which you’re unlikely to have at this point) or chase one of them down and assassinate him for his papers.

These contracts are intended for Imai Sokyu. Now you just need to find him.

Where to Find Imai Sokyu in Assassin’s Creed Shadows

Despite Assassin’s Creed Shadows providing clues that say Imai Sokyu is in the southwest of Sakai, this isn’t entirely accurate. Instead, it’s better to say he can be found just south of the center of the city.

Sakai has a road running through the center, with a bridge off the island on each end. In the southeast corner of the city, just to the east of this road, there is a shrine area full of trees. Imai Sokyu’s business can be found near the northwest corner of this wooded section, on the main road. You can identify it by a cart, a lantern on the north of the door and paper signage displaying a circle with three dots inside.

Go inside to speak to Imai Sokyu but initially you will be stopped from getting near him. Instead, his son, Sokun, will speak to you and instruct you to follow him. Be bold in your choices whenever you’re offered them, as this will impress him. You will now gain two new main quests: one to learn the tea ceremony etiquette and another to find a kosode. Complete these and you will be granted an audience with Sokyu.
