Marvel Rivals season one has officially kicked off. But with so many characters available to play at your fingertips, it might be overwhelming to pick a superhero, let alone consider who’s best for your team composition.
Ideally, you will always want one healer on your team when playing a competitive match, as this will put you in an advantageous position where you won’t necessarily have to rely on health packs. But this begs the question, which heroes are the best at healing in Marvel Rivals? We’ll give you our top three picks on healers and why we recommend them so you can decide which one might best suit your playstyle.
Rocket Raccoon
Rocket Raccoon might seem like an unassuming hero to use on surface value, but he actually harbours the second-best win ratio on rivalsmeta with 53.92%. This is mainly due to his healing and support abilities. One of his main moves, Repair Mode, will project bouncing spheres across the map, which will heal his fellow allies. You will pretty much want to use this all the time, as it’s a great way to heal your teammates from far away. However, Rocket Raccoon’s B.R.B. ability makes him stand out from other healers, as it deploys a beacon that can create armor packs, rocket-jet-packs, and, most importantly, revive a fallen ally.
This can be a massive game-changer as if you cannot heal someone in time, a fallen teammate should be able to get back into the action very quickly. Vanguard characters like Hulk and Venom should try to use this to their advantage, as it can tip the match in your favor, especially on payload maps. The only drawback is his damage output is not the best, so it can be challenging for the little guy to defend himself in certain situations. We advise using him alongside another healer to get the most out of the character.
Mantis
Mantis is an easy suggestion for anyone who gravitates towards Duelists, as her playstyle will allow you to secure kills and heal your fellow teammates effortlessly. For anyone unacquainted with the character, Mantis will have four orbs that are basically her equivalent of healing ammo. If you use a move related to healing, it will retract one orb. However, these orbs will regenerate over time, so it’s a bit of a management game. The main move you will want to utilize when it comes to healing will be the Healing Flower, which will recover an ally’s health over time.
Of course, this will be limited help if multiple players are bombarding an ally at once, but this can gradually heal them and allow you to concentrate on dealing damage. Her ultimate move, Soul Resurgence, is arguably the best healing ultimate in Marvel Rivals, as it provides some extremely beneficial buffs. Not only does the move heal your nearby allies, but it will also start giving them additional bonus health if they are maxed out. This can be incredibly helpful in endgame scenarios when everyone is congregating at a capture point.
Cloak and Dagger
Cloak and Dagger personifies the classic saying easy to learn but hard to master. The way you utilise their abilities will determine how effective they will be on the battlefield. During a match, you can switch between Cloak and Dagger, both of which have different skills. Dagger specialises in healing, whereas Cloak will employ offensive attacks. The most efficient way to heal with Dagger is to use the Lightforce Dagger move, which will automatically lock onto an ally and heal them. If your team has a superhero that tends to attack from above, like Storm or Ironman, this will be highly beneficial as you can quickly heal them with minimal effort.
A good tactic to adopt when playing as Dagger is to keep behind your team or be at a side angle and unleash the Light Explosion ability. It will heal your team members in front of you and provide a healing boost. This means if you use the Lightforce Dagger right after, it will recover more health. It might not be classified as a healing ability, but make sure in situations where the enemy team is using an ultimate to switch into Cloak and use Dark Teleportation. This will momentarily enshroud nearby allies and make them invulnerable to attacks, which is an excellent counter to Scarlet Witch or Magneto.
Marvel Rivals is available for the PlayStation 5, PC, and Xbox Series X.
