When Does Green Rain Happen?
Green rain is a particular weather event that can randomly happen in this beloved indie farming sim. It is worth noting that you can only seen green rain during a single season in the year. That season is Summer. You can see green rain appear on any of the below days during the Summer season. The worst part is you won’t know ahead of time, but it will only happen on one of them each year.
- Summer: 5, 6, 7, 14, 15, 16, 18, and 23
Sadly, every Summer season, it is totally random which of the above days will see green rain. This weather event sees the land covered in a green mist that will radically change everything from the trees to certain materials you can only gather during this time.
What to Do During Green Rain in Stardew Valley
It is super important that you take advantage of every day that green rain appears in Stardew Valley. This is mainly because of the moss-covered trees that happen. They only stick around for a single in-game day when this weather event happens. You will need a Scythe to be able to harvest the moss that will appear on most of the trees after green rain.
The Scythe is the only way to get this moss, which you can then turn around and use to craft various items, such as the Speed-Gro stimulant, Statue of Blessings, Deluxe Worm Bin, Treasure Totem, and many more. Since moss is highly rare each year in this game, it is best to take advantage of getting as much as possible on green rain days.
